How to fix Microsoft Office Error code  0-1012(0), 30068-4, 30183-39, 0-1037(0) or 0-1018(0)

The main reasons why some of us receives error codes 0-1012(0), 30068-4, 30183-39, 0-1037(0) or 0-1018(0) while trying to install Microsoft office in our computer is due to some internal conflicts happens in the basic windows installer registry keys or due to some erroneous changes made in the proxy level.

These issues can be resolved by following the below steps which helps to fix the corrupted registry files and reset the proxy settings.

Removal of corrupted registry files

1. Press “windows + R” to pop up the run command.

3. Back up the current registry file system by exporting them to your computer which will help you to restore to previous position in case if the registry files gets corrupted while editing them.

4. Click on “files” and select “export” which will export the existing registry files to a location that you select.
5. Select the option “All” files in the “Export range” panel opened.
6. Expand to the location My Computer\ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ Current Version key by clicking on the plus (+) sign next to it.

7. Check for the registry files of already uninstalled applications and remove them.
8. Also remove unwanted start-up items.

Disabling proxy settings

Some network conflicts may occur if the proxy settings are not set as per the recommended format which will cause the errors 0-1012(0), 30068-4, 30183-39, 0-1037(0) or 0-1018(0) while the installation of Microsoft office.

1. Press “windows + R” to open the run window.

2. Type “cmd” and press “enter” to open the command prompt.
3. Type “sfc –scannow” in the available command prompt window and press “enter” key.

4. Let the scan run completely so that it automatically detects and resolves the issues related with the basic file system causing the error codes 0-1012(0), 30068-4, 30183-39, 0-1037(0) or 0-1018(0).

Removal and re-installation of Microsoft Office

Try to un-install and reinstall the Microsoft Office program to resolve the issues if the issues persists after performing the above steps causing error codes 0-1012(0), 30068-4, 30183-39, 0-1037(0) or 0-1018(0).

1. Press “ Windows + R ” to open the run command
2. Type “appwiz.cpl” in the window.
   

   Uninstall and reinstall

3. In the list of installed applications, select Microsoft office.
4. Click on “uninstall/change” to remove the Microsoft office program from your computer.
5. Reinstall Microsoft office after complete removal of the program.
