Error code 0-1005 when installing Office

Step 1. SFC (System File Checker) method.

1. Type “cmd” in the Run window to access “command prompt”.
2. Type “sfc –scannow” to begin the file checking process.
3. The SFC scan will detect and fix the errors in the Windows file system module associated with Microsoft office.

Step 2. Re-enable the stopped Windows Installer services.

Command

1. Type “services.msc” in the Run command window and press enter.
2. Look for the Windows Installer file and double-click to get the properties.
3. Click on the “start” option to restart the Windows Installer services.

 Step 3. Clean up your computer

Clean up your computer for avoiding installation conflicts from existing temporary files.

1. Open Run Command – Press the “Windows + R” key on the keyboard.
2. In the Run windows type “cleanmg” and  Click” Ok”.
3. Select “C drive” and click “OK”.
4. Select the temporary file which need to be removed.
5. Try to re-installing Office.

Step 4 . Remove and Reinstall

Remove the current version of Office product installed on your computer

1. Press the “Windows + R” key on the keyboard.
2. In the opened Run windows type “appwiz.cpl” and Click“Ok”.
3. Look for Office Program installed on the computer in the available list.
4. Uninstall the Office program and then try to install Office.
5. You can install the office program from your office account.
